The expert driver-guides get high marks not just for their knowledge of the animals and terrain but also for their knack for turning every game drive into a discovery. Travelers often leave with newfound friends (sometimes human, sometimes four-legged and spotted from a distance).

Accommodations are another highlight, with most describing their lodges and camps as both luxurious and uniquely placed—imagine waking up to the sight of giraffes strolling past your veranda. Some note that the road journeys between parks can be bumpy or long, but agree the wildlife encounters and stunning locations make every mile worthwhile.

What Travelers Love (and Don’t) About This Safari

Feedback from past travelers often centers around some key highlights and a few common challenges. The overwhelming consensus? The close-up experiences with wildlife—especially sightings of Africa’s Big Five—are real trip-makers. Waking up just steps from the savannah, with animals ambling nearby, has left guests with memories they won’t soon forget.

  • High-quality lodges and camps in prime locations
  • Personalized touches that help guests feel cared for and safe throughout their journey

Tour Plan

Expand All
Day 1 – Arrival in Nairobi & Journey to Masai Mara

Welcome to Kenya — a land of endless horizons and vibrant culture. Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your private driver-guide greets you and briefs you on the adventure ahead.

You’ll then set off on a scenic journey through the Great Rift Valley, with a brief stop at a panoramic viewpoint to capture its breathtaking escarpment. By early afternoon, you’ll arrive in the Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s premier wildlife haven.

After lunch and some rest, enjoy a cultural visit to a Maasai village — meet the proud warriors, learn their ancient traditions, and experience their rhythmic songs and dances. As dusk paints the plains in gold, return to your camp for a cozy dinner and your first night under the African stars.

Day 2 – Full-Day Game Drive in the Masai Mara

Rise with the sun and set out on a full-day safari across the wild, untamed plains of the Masai Mara. Your expert guide will help you track the “Big Five” — lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo, and rhinos — as well as cheetahs, giraffes, and countless antelope species.

Between July and October, the Mara becomes the stage for the Great Wildebeest Migration, a natural spectacle of movement, survival, and raw beauty. Enjoy a picnic lunch beside the Mara River before continuing your exploration.

Return in the late afternoon for a relaxed evening and dinner, surrounded by the distant sounds of nature.

Day 3 – From the Savannah to the Lake (Masai Mara → Naivasha)

After breakfast, say farewell to the Mara and drive through the scenic landscapes of the Rift Valley toward Lake Naivasha, a peaceful freshwater lake surrounded by lush greenery.

Arrive for lunch and enjoy a boat safari — glide across the shimmering waters among hippos, pelicans, and fish eagles. Step ashore for a guided walking safari among zebras and giraffes on Crescent Island, where there are no predators — just pure tranquility and close encounters with nature.

Relax in the evening by the lakeshore as the sky turns to shades of pink and gold.

Day 4 – Journey to Amboseli: Shadows of Kilimanjaro

After breakfast, travel south to Amboseli National Park, famed for its vast elephant herds and the iconic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain.

Arrive in time for lunch and settle in before heading out later for a scenic drive or leisure time with breathtaking mountain views. At sunset, watch as the elephants move gracefully across the dusty plains with Kilimanjaro glowing behind them — one of Africa’s most timeless sights.

Day 5 – Full-Day Exploration of Amboseli

Wake early to see the first rays of sunlight crown Mount Kilimanjaro. After breakfast, embark on a full-day safari in Amboseli, where the park’s open plains, swamps, and acacia forests teem with wildlife.

Watch elephants cooling off in the wetlands, lions resting under the shade, and flamingos painting the lakes pink. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the park before returning to your lodge to relax as the golden light fades across the horizon.

Day 6 – From the Savannah to the Sea (Amboseli → Emali → Mombasa → Diani Beach)

After breakfast, your driver transfers you by road to Emali Railway Station to board the SGR train to Mombasa — a modern, comfortable, and scenic ride across Kenya’s heartland.

Upon arrival in Mombasa, a coastal representative will meet you for a private road transfer to Diani Beach, located along Kenya’s beautiful southern coast.

As you arrive, palm trees sway in the ocean breeze and turquoise waves lap the shore — welcome to paradise. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing by the beach or pool with the sound of the ocean as your soundtrack.

Day 7 – Tropical Bliss on the Indian Ocean (Diani Beach)

Wake up to the gentle rhythm of waves and the warmth of the coastal sun. Today is yours to unwind or explore.

You may choose to go snorkeling or diving in the vibrant Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park, spot dolphins, or enjoy a Wasini Island tour with a Swahili-style seafood lunch. Alternatively, relax at your resort, stroll along the beach, or indulge in a rejuvenating spa treatment.

As evening falls, savor a romantic dinner by the sea as the sun sinks into the horizon.

Day 8 – Leisure at the Coast (Diani Beach)

A full extra day to enjoy the coast at your own pace. Perhaps you’ll take a glass-bottom boat excursion to view coral gardens, visit the ancient Kaya Kinondo Forest, or simply sip fresh coconut water as you lounge under a palm tree.

For the adventurous, optional activities include kite surfing, camel rides, or a sunset dhow cruise — the perfect way to end the day.

Day 9 – Farewell to Kenya

Enjoy your final morning in paradise. Take a sunrise stroll along the beach or relax with a cup of Kenyan coffee overlooking the ocean.

After breakfast, transfer to Ukunda Airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi, connecting to your international departure.
As you soar over Kenya’s landscapes — from golden savannas to turquoise seas — you’ll carry the warmth, beauty, and rhythm of Africa in your heart.
