The Maasai Mara’s location
The Maasai Mara National Reserve sits in the far southwest of Kenya, in Narok County, against the Tanzanian border. It is the northern tip of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, which is why the wildebeest migration moves between the two. From Nairobi it is about 270 km, a 5 to 6 hour drive or a 40 to 45 minute flight. Use the detailed map of the Maasai Mara to plan where to stay.
